Recently Indian government had hiked petrol prices once again. I know you people are really angry due to the price hike. But behind the scenes lets discuss whether the prices are really high or not.
If you don't have some sense of humor as well as sense of responsibility please don't read this post at all. Some views may even hurt you. I apologize for that. Of course you are free to present your own comments on this.
Let start with a picture which is trending on Facebook. Below is the image I found somewhere on my friends timeline.

The above image got so many likes as well as shares on Facebook. Of course it also got comments blaming Indian government for the price hike. But the fact is that the above image data is totally wrong.
What I came to know from this is people in India are really lazy and they are going to believe any statistic that may be presented to them, whether it is true or false.
Why some people try to share this type of information, instead of sharing fuel saving tips.
Actually in reality the price of petrol in other countries is as given in below table.
Don't trust the above data too. Do a little Google search and find out whether the above prices are really correct or not? Don't be lazy. :)
Now tell me whether the prices are really high in India???
At first I just hate to compare prices with other countries at all. Petrol price will always be low in countries like Iran, Iraq and Afghanisthan. Because you know very well they are the source of crude oil.
What really surprised me is the anger and the negative comments people use to express against Indian government. (Please don't assume me as UPA government supporter. I am just supporting my country. That's it)
Of course I am a bit sad because many people like milk vendors in many parts of India may also using mopeds which are powered by petrol. So these people will also going to be effected. Anyway they are free to rise milk prices. :)
People in china prefer bicycle for going to office as well as for shopping purposes. Nowadays in India people don't want to use cycles at all due to the only reason that friends will make fun of them.
One of my friend lives in a village, where there is no proper transportation system. He has to travel at least 9 km to purchase daily needs. Only two bus services are there, one in the morning and the other in the evening. So ultimately he got a bike so that it can be helpful to him in emergency. I really feel sad that he is also going to be effected due to price hike.
Now tell me frankly how many people are having bike for such needy and useful purpose? If the price of petrol is not hiked, we may tend to use it more whether it is really needed or not. One of my friend uses his bike for going to market, which is just 300 metres away. There are many people like this roaming around us.
A rise in Diesel price should be really bothered because it effects the transportation system as well as our living directly. Which ultimately hits common man in India.
Government should immediately ban Diesel cars or at least hike the price of Diesel car by ten times as compared to Petrol version. By this way rich people are forced to buy only petrol cars. So that the subsidized diesel should be utilized effectively.
All steps should be taken so that diesel cannot be misused by heavy industries.
Government should make public transportation system available in each and every village of India.
Waiting for the day when petrol price travels from senior citizen to century. :)
I know you are very angry on me for having such views. Please don't try to find and kill me. That may be really a bad thing that can happen to me. Do share your ideas regarding this post. Negative comments are also welcome.
I always use to enjoy the price hike by latest jokes on it. Here are some funny lines related to the latest hike. Lets enjoy them.
"only good thing from petrol price hike is, none wil try to steal vehicles. They are safe!"
"The days are not too far, when my take home salary won't be enough to take me home."
"Finally, its gonna be a dream come true All girls dream man will come on a white horse!"
"Girl: hi whatsup??? Boy: nothing much as usual petrol prices are up?"
"Petrol to Dollar- Rishtey mein hum tumhaare baap lagtey hain!"
"Mere pas bangla hai, gaadi hai, rupya hai, bank balance hai, izzat hai. Kya hai tumhare pas? Mere pas....Diesel Car hai"
"I do not care about petrol price, it is not because I do not have a car, it is because I have a driver. He steals petrol."
"Sign board at Petrol pump: Buy Petrol worth Rs.20,000 and get a TATA nano absolutely free."
"Breaking News: 2 Mumbai players caught red handed accepting a 10 litre can of Petrol to bowl a NO ball."
"Petrol – on the bright side: possibility of fewer cars on road, less pollution, better public transport and more cyclists & walkers."
People used to like fake data a lot, but don't tend to like accurate information. Don't know why? Some people may dislike this post. But sorry Facebook doesn't have a dislike button, but you are welcome to comment any thing by posting below.

Are citizens really effected due to price hike?
Not at all. Who is going to bother about price rise. People in India became so luxurious and stylish that they prefer to use a bike which merely gives 35 km per litre average even though 80 kmpl mileage bikes are available. why students like to go on bike to college when actually colleges buses and RTC buses are every where. It just indicates that price really doesn't matter at all.Of course I am a bit sad because many people like milk vendors in many parts of India may also using mopeds which are powered by petrol. So these people will also going to be effected. Anyway they are free to rise milk prices. :)

What I want to be done by Indian Government
Government should provide some subsidy to Diesel price. The subsidy amount should again imposed as a tax on petrol.Government should immediately ban Diesel cars or at least hike the price of Diesel car by ten times as compared to Petrol version. By this way rich people are forced to buy only petrol cars. So that the subsidized diesel should be utilized effectively.
