You are the Creator of your own Destiny

Again a personal post just meant for all who want to improve their quality of living and thinking. Just grab a cup of Tea, relax and read on! Hope you will find this helpful.

Many people on this planet Earth just blame others for their failure. They say society is not supporting them. Once I too use to think a little bit like that. Thank god I changed a lot and now I have a totally different mind set :).

Here is a situation which I faced in my graduation time during one of the final examination long back. Actually what happened at that time is I didn't prepared well (frankly speaking not at all) for an examination and attended the exam. On seeing the question paper I got some sad feeling and also irritated and asked myself why the question paper is so tough? People all around me are busy with their answer sheets but I am just glimpsing all over the exam hall (don't think that I am looking for some help from any friend via copying answers. I already stopped these type of tricks in my 4th standard :)). Feeling nervous I even started to blame the faculty member for not teaching the subject in a way so that I can understand easily. My eyes just caught the attention of a logo on the wall which is having an image of Swami Vivekananda and below the image a quote was written "You are the creator of your own destiny."

I just wondered whether the quote is really meant for me. I started digging deep in that quote and even tried some books related to personality development by Vivekananda. All these studies finally made me realized that you are the creator of your own destiny.

I think anger is the root cause of all the failures. Whenever we get angry our mind becomes out of control and we are not sure what is going to happen in that time. So avoid anger at all costs. If something bad is happening to you don't blame others, you are the only one responsible for that.

Here is a real life situation in my life on how some things changed in my life due to thoughts of thinking.

After studies I got a chance to teach in a college. of course this the field in which I am most interested at that time. And whatever you feel most interesting in life you will get that. This is final :). Well I dealt C language at that time.

During those days I noticed some of the students are bunking my classes. May be all other subject classes too. One day when the class strength is better I just scolded one student who is regularly avoiding classes. I though that this will bring some change in the student. But in reality that student became more irregular. Later I realized that blaming a student in front of all the class is not at all good and that's the reason why he is loosing interest in classes. Of course I am also becoming more irritated when I blame someone.

I just changed my attitude. Whenever I see some students roaming in the college campus while the classes are going on I just used to give a pleasant smile to them and walked away. If there is any need to counsel students I used to tell them to come to the staff room so that we can discuss what is the real problem. Once I developed friendly attitude towards students, things changed dramatically. I can able to see discipline and full strength in my class. I even started giving some puzzles related to programming on every weekend to create extra interest in the subject as well as for sharpening programming skills. I am so grateful that students always welcomed my ideas and implemented them. The only reason why this is all possible is due to controlling my anger and presenting myself with a smiling face in every class. Of course strong desire to deliver good stuff to students is playing most important role in this process.

My conclusion is whatever I desired as a faculty member and what I expected from students I got that. Again the quote proved itself right You are the creator of your own destiny.

Some students says that their parents are responsible for their current pathetic life. If they have provided a chance to study in English medium schools then their life may be some thing different. If they enrolled them in IIT coaching institute then their life is at the level best and so on. I will say all these students are trying to cover their mistakes and blaming their parents. This is really bad. We are only responsible for our failures. Parents are just next to God and they can't have any malicious intentions for their children. Always love them till your last breath.

How can we sure that if a marriage is performed in a particular location our life will be a lot better? There is no guarantee because location doesn't matter at all. It's all about the way we spend our life with our spouse. In the same way studying in an IIT may not guarantee that student will become definitely great. If this is the case study the biography of most successful people in our country. You will find plenty of people who are successful from low level institutes too.

A son along with his old father came to park. In the park father asked about the name of the bird far on a tree. Son told it was a pigeon. Father asked again. Son said angrily with a loud voice its a pigeon. Father asked again. Son who lost all his temper told that can't you hear. Are you deaf? How many times I have to tell that it's a pigeon.

Father in a low voice told to his son: Oh my dear son! when you were a kid, you asked the same question twenty times to me. Every time I replied with a kiss on your face. And now when I actually asked only three times you got irritated. Look how things have been changed in our lives.

Always respect your parents. One day you too will become a parent. Don't think that you don't get such situation in your life because you have plenty of money. There is a concept called KARMA which works behind the scenes and plays a typical role in our life.

Always face the world with positive attitude. If few people cannot behave nicely we should not loose faith. Always be positive in life. Have a wonderful life on the planet Earth.
